ARON ROSSMAN-KISS a Hungarian-American visual artist with a background in the social sciences. His practice focuses on issues related to the intersection between collective and private memories, new readings of art history, and migration. Using a variety of media and often based on fieldwork and collaboration. The work he proposes for the Impossible Library explores the link between methods of library classification and surveillance. Starting from a historical overview of the theme, he will work collaboratively on the Impossible Library inventory and sketch how alternative methods of classification can be (re)imagined in a data-driven age. In the process, he will seek to explore how to devise methods of classification that could resist re-purposing as tools of control.
